Fitting Rolla Mani, Decatting

Recommended Posts

Just bought one and when im fitting it is there anything to look out for? order to do it in etc, and also anything that needs changing, i have a longer hose for the map sensor, is that it?

And also i would like to decat the standard exhaust, would there be any benefit on doing this?

Thanks

Not really much to look out for, a pretty straight forward swap to be honest, the chances are you wont have any manifold support brackets or braces that match unless you got the ones off the old car, if not it doesnt matter, i ran my old n/a with a corolla manifold and no support brackets.

You might also need to make a new support for the throttle cable, depends what comes on the manifold,

Only thing i would look out for is the 4 pipes going into the bottom of the throttle body, if you are changing that then just take time to out them on the correct ports again.

As for the decat, it may give a small gain but if you want to up the power, the best way would be a full cutom exhaust to be honest

The Corolla manifold is easy, the bolts can be awkward to get at but it's a straight forward job. Took me a couple of hours the first time I did it but the 2nd time it took me about half an hour.

De-catting the exhaust should give you a tad more power up the higher end of the rev range. Might lose a tiny bit of low end torque.

And it will make the exhaust sound raspier.

Oh and about the throttle cable holder, some people made brackets and other complicated shit, you can just bend the one that's on there with pliers and it will hold the cable fine.
