Not sure what kind of performance the turbos give.

However, not trying to be mean or be a pain but I'm highly doubtful you'll be able to insure one as your first car. For me a non turbo Starlet is still pretty high insurance.

(How old are you though as that could make a difference?)

hehe, beat me to it Si B)

He may well be im 22 and im paying £1400 with 0yrs ncb, so its gonna probably be more than that

as far as performance u can go upto about 350bhp, there has been more, but the best reliable amount is around 200 at the wheels horse power because theyr front-wheel drive remember

Wow 1st car a turbo starlet, wicked stuff, wish my dad paid for my insurance lol. Just don't go crashing it and then you'll be ok.

Standard they be running around 133hp, but with a few bit of modding, you can surely get to 300hp like Si had comment on.

a was expecting it to be around 1800 can you get 1.6 or 1.4 theres a 300 bhp corsa up here which is front wheel drives it just spins evry were lyk

no theyr standard 1.3 litre 4e-fte turbos, a few have hybridised them with the Paseo's or Sera's 1.5 itre engine with varying effects but this entails a tremendous amount of work and expense

I think everyone does, insurance is one big rip off I reckon.

Then again can't not have insurance as never know when an idiot will crash into you're car.

(or take a disliking to it)

One word: grr B)

i really doubt you will get insured mate. try a few companies before you set your heart on one.

when i passed i tried to get insured on a 1.5 civic. £3500 tp.

a turbo starlet is gonna be more.

Not particularly, but I am 18 with 0 ncb so any car costs a lot to insure

(my insurance is fully comp and costs £1900)

How old are you though as that could make a difference?
