ollie ryan Posted November 2, 2010 Share Posted November 2, 2010 my car has over heated twice now and it only does it sitting in traffic and i cant hear the fan on and have left the car to idle at home for about 10mins and the fan doesnt start updont want to damage my new engine so what do i need to do? Asad Posted November 2, 2010 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Have you recently removed the aircon?Check all fuses/connectionsThen replace the thermostat (sod testing it for the price and due to the fact youll be removing it anyway you might aswell replace it)by now it should come on and run fine....... ollie ryan Posted November 2, 2010 Author Share Posted November 2, 2010 well i had the aircon removed just before the first japfest and it over heated on the way to japfest and then over heated the other day again but i never sit in traffic i will check everything over and put my 4th thermostat in nowthen see what happens Quote Link to post Share on other sites

ollie ryan Posted November 3, 2010 Author Share Posted November 3, 2010 cant just assume its a thermostat lol Simple stuff to check first. Are both rad hoses burning hot? Are both matrix pipes burning hot? Is the top and bottom of the rad burning hot? Is there hot air from the vents? Have you put power across the fan to see if it actualy works? If the fan works with 12v through it id be looking at coolant temp switch ect.cheers for the infoi will check it all this weekend and update this thread Quote Link to post Share on other sites
