my car has over heated twice now and it only does it sitting in traffic and i cant hear the fan on and have left the car to idle at home for about 10mins and the fan doesnt start up

dont want to damage my new engine so what do i need to do?

Have you recently removed the aircon?

Check all fuses/connections

Then replace the thermostat (sod testing it for the price and due to the fact youll be removing it anyway you might aswell replace it)

by now it should come on and run fine.......

well i had the aircon removed just before the first japfest and it over heated on the way to japfest and then over heated the other day again but i never sit in traffic

i will check everything over and put my 4th thermostat in nowthen see what happens

Have a search around i think? its just the GTs that need it done

also you said the 4th thermo? how long has this been going on? what have you checked and replaced?

i had a new one with the headgasket

then it over heated so my second one

another with the new engine

and now looking like my 4th

will only be a second one from over heating but it hasnt over heated in 6months untill a few days ago

your lucky headgasket is holding out if its over heating all the time

as i said im on my 4th thromstate now

and the car heats up fine and when driving stays perfect temp

its only over heated twice once 6months ago and again last week after a 20min drive the stuck in a shed load of trafffic

My fan is always on, as is my other mate with a GT

^^lol, you dont need to bridge the plug on Glanza's just GT's,have you tryed chaging the thermostat?

cant just assume its a thermostat lol :D:D

Simple stuff to check first. Are both rad hoses burning hot? Are both matrix pipes burning hot? Is the top and bottom of the rad burning hot? Is there hot air from the vents? Have you put power across the fan to see if it actualy works? If the fan works with 12v through it id be looking at coolant temp switch ect.
