i have a friend who has a diesel rover 75 and it wont rev above 3000 rpm

u hold your foot right down on the accelerator and it goes up to 3 then dies down even tho the pedal is still right down sorry its not starlet related just wondered if anyone could help me

my polo would do this randomly as i was driving along its a saftey feature where the engie goes "limp mode" google it it may come up i never cured mine

if it happend id turn the ignition on off n it wud be ok for a few days but lukily for me it got wrote off a few weeks after this started

sounds like a saftey mode on the ecu as nazzurro19 pointed out, you need to run a diagnostic check is alot of things it could be bud
