Auto Folding Wing Mirrors

Anyone ever messed with the electronics to make the wing mirrors fold in when the car is locked with an alarm fob?

If so any pointers, whats involved?

I havn't done it but its a good idea! That little button is anoying I end up drivin around with my wing mirrors in loads....

I'm going to try and figure out how to do but it needs a live feed as they only fold when the ign is on so i need to work it out without back feeding the ign

Idrees said his V did it before he striped it. It would be awesome but my mirrors are out of sync and sound like dieing pigeons when retracted.

my glanza also has self retracting mirrors i beleive it was an optinal thing

^ so yours fold in using the standard central locking fob?

Yeah as Dan said mine did this before I stripped it. When you locked the doors with the key they would fold in then come back out once you turn the ignition over iirc. The retrsction button doesn't work at all after putting it back together for some reason. It was pretty cool though

Iddy I need to see the back of the mirror switch and what wires In your door I've just checked mine and it's not connected to the central locking at all would be nice to know how it is......

???? Did you change anything like a different drivers door or??

I didn't do anything apart from f*ck about with the mirrors to paint them. Opened them all up so I could spray just the cases but failed, so put them all back together.

I need a new pair of wing mirrors as mine are all floppy, they aren't solid anymore. I think it's because I manually unfolded them

I've folded my mirrors in loads of time and they always folded back out as soon at the ignition is turned on ??

Anyway I will figure it out because it will be well cool

Ok so I don't know how I've managed to knacker them, but I have! Maybe it's something to do with opening them up. When I get a new pair, I'll let you know if they work as they used to!
