Amjad
Hey Guys,My GT will shortly be on the road and I really wanna get this issue sorted! The exhaust clangs over the axle and I think sometimes by the mid section (not 100% sure on the latter though)-I have the system heatwrapped BUT I ran out of heatwrap before I managed to do the back box section, so I'll be ordering more and doing that asap!-I replaced the old bushes with new Powerflex ones which I though would prevent it from happening but I guess not Any ideas as to how I can take extra measures to stop the clanging?NOTE: While testing the car, the rear springs were knackered which wouldn't help. I'll probably be ordering some PI springs so the car will sit 40-45mm lower than stock ride heightThanksAmjad
Amjad
Smaller exhaust bushes have been suggested so far, and to cable tie something to the axle to bridge the gap between the pipe and axle..?
Socks
longer or shorter bushes can help..altho the flanges are holes and there not really designed to have adjustability.. there is still some slop in them.... you can use the next size bolt down m6 to m5 for example... this will giv u some slop or adjustability....try that... on an old corsa i had... i had a 1 inch think 1/2 foot slap of solid rubber... that was jublieed round a exhaust section to stop it clanging on the beam... worked well! The exahsuts rarely get hot enough to melt rubber from the front of the drivers door backward... hence why your never see exhaust hangers on a downpipe hope that all helps! Idrees
Try smaller bushes as you mentioned. I had the same exhaust on my GT and it was fine.

Hopefully heat-wrapping and the smaller bushes should sort it out! Thanks for the help fellas!
Raz
Can someone take a moment and explain how smaller bushes will work. (Sorry for my ignorance)My Glanzas did this because of how low they were. I had to raise them when it came to selling time.
iamlegend
told you so buddy, had the exact same issue was a reet pain broke the GT so that solved my problem haha, i tried a exhaust patch cable tied on the back axle it stopped the banging but then inside the cabin became a vibration so was one or the either tbh lol
Nanglebadger
the above solutions should help dude.with my oooooooold N/A system, we had to put a cable tie AROUND the rubber hanger to tighten it up, thereby making it shorter.then with the Remus it banged on the axle, had to take it to Powerflow to have the up-and-over section reworked properly to raise it away from the axle. this sorted it right out.custom exhaust work could be the way to go man, shouldn't be too expensive if its just a modification required.Phil. (Sorry for my ignorance)My Glanzas did this because of how low they were. This niggle is annoying but I am more than happy with the build quality, sound and price I paid for it! I paid twice as much for my NA system!the above solutions should help dude.with my oooooooold N/A system, we had to put a cable tie AROUND the rubber hanger to tighten it up, thereby making it shorter.then with the Remus it banged on the axle, had to take it to Powerflow to have the up-and-over section reworked properly to raise it away from the axle. this sorted it right out.custom exhaust work could be the way to go man, shouldn't be too expensive if its just a modification required.Phil.Thanks for that Phil, never thought of getting the pipework modded! Hopefully the bushes will do the trick, if not I'm sure the rubber on the axle will suffice! Failing that I can always get the pipe altered Thanks everybody for the input!Amjad
Raz
Oh that. Exhaust Rubber is what i know it by lol. (i'm noob)Makes sense too.

Lukew360
I wrapped old carpet round the axle, worked a treat lol Is this not a fire hazard? Let me know if it works Amjad, I've got a slight knock on mine if I hit the bumps to hard.By replacing those rubbers on the centre section, will that change the position of the back box?Don't want it to move as it's spot on atm
Amjad
I'll let you know man, we'll probably put something mike rubber on the axle before changing bushes etcAnd I replaced all my bushes at once with Powerflex ones as the old ones were tearing
