TRD
hi, I have a complete ep 82 turbo kit bolted out from the GT, including manifold downpipe, etc...Will it be a straight bolt on on the 4E? What does need changing and how to make it run? Please help.Sleeper n/a was my dream.
lukEp
You will need an oil filter housing and drill and tap out the 3 holes for the bolts and valve springs are harder in the turbo lump sump is different as it had oil feed return and pistons are different, my Bro is in the process of bolting a turbo on to an na to see how long it last and how much boost it can take
RobSR
you need to just get some sort of oil to the turbo and back out again...so either a sandwich plate, or tap it for the fte filter housing for feed, and then either a turbo sump or tap a fitting into your old n/a one.decent ecu and map sensor aswell..thats basically all you need, apart from the obvious other turbo gubbings etc... there was a company in aus that specialised in a n/a td04 kit, on a completely stock engine they made over 200bhp.. TRD
Tap housing??? How to do this. Hmmm, harder than i thought then. I reckon it will blow the engine quicker than it gets to boosting!!!What to do then? Confused now. Anyone selling a cheap 4efte lump?

Asad
Main thing you have to worry about is the compression and condition of the FE unit and most imporantly the engine management side.....the Said tuning company provided a full engine managment package so it was safeeveything apart from the oil filter housing is a simple bolt on, depends how badly you want to do it
TheStarletGT
dont worry about drilling/tapping etc, if your that desperate, get a oil filter relocation kit, that will solve the issue.I considered a engine replacement with a 4e and i done my homework. The quickest way is to get a relocation kit and its done.
nastyrash 2003
the turbo sits right in the way of a sandwich plate, so it is very hard to use 1. i just use tigger seal and made a bracket from the power steering adjuster braket to the oil filter housing shield bolt just to sure it up and works like a dream. this is a easy mod to do really and i recon u can booste a N/A at around 6psi no problem just back the ignition timing off by 1degree and up fuel presure to 2.6 regulated, oh and also use the turbo injectors and it is worth investing in a new lamba sensor. rob2.2
surely easier to jusyt fit a turbo lump and get the correct loom/ecu?
TRD
I'm very confused now. Should I try at least or start looking for a good running complete lump??? Hmmm
nastyrash 2003
it all depends on wat tools u have and how confident u are on looms and other tricky components. i recon u could have a N/A turboed in a day and only need a few tools not a big job really. also the N/A will have a totaly differnt feel to a turbo engine which is why i want to try it. u can get bolt on booste retarders from most motor sport places which would allow u to push the N/A engine, plus a nock control system. anything is possible in this day and age. plus a decent engine will set u back 650 notes wer as i have picked up most of the bits for around 500 notes.
