micky boy Posted April 17, 2011 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Hello chaps my friend has just got him self a starlet N/A and i have noticed there is oil leaking from the distributor its dripping down near the front right hand side of the engine what im wanting to know is, it hard to change the seal? i.e do you have to mess about with the two bolts for the advance and retard for the timeing to able to get to the seal? orr is it in a completely diffrant place.. micky boy Posted April 17, 2011 Author Share Posted April 17, 2011 As in rocker cover gasket?...we changed that a few weeks ago but since then he has had the rocker cover back off to give it a polish so maybe the rubber has crushed to the point where its not sealing no more?...I think his best bet would be to buy a new one and go from there....Cheers idrees Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Russleh Posted April 17, 2011 Share Posted April 17, 2011 that was the problem i had on my last engine. coming from that area and drippin onto the gearbox. changed the oring on the dizzy and still had it so could well be the rocker gasket. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
