siren676 Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 On iPod so couldn't write anything above.I'm thinking whether to get camber bolts for my ep91. What are your opinions/experience with them? Also where to get them from? Quote
BearFaceOfDoom Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Helped fit them to my mates Almera GTi (Bare in mind he's a mechanic for the M.O.D so we didnt do a shit job of it lol) and no sooner had he driven down the road and hit a pot hole they were knocked stright out of place again.I don't wanna put a downer on your day but imo not worth it and you'd be better off with the standard setup until you can get some pillowball top mounts They're a much more reliable and accurate way to dial in some decent camber Quote
siren676 Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 Ah ok. I do the occasional track day so I guess they wouldn't hold up.Are pillowball mounts able to be used with spring and shock setups or are they only for coilovers? Quote
ryan lang Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 camber bolts are a waste of money imo dude. urmm not sure if you can use them on standard shocks but might aswell get coilovers which come with them if your doing track days Quote
Liam_D Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Coilovers with adjustable Top Mounts FTW! so much easier to get right too. Quote
siren676 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 I cant afford coilovers and would have to get a cert if i fitted them.Looks like ill have to keep the car as it is or get the shock mount slotted a bit if i want camber Quote
mech5107 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Go to your local Toyota dealer and ask for crash bolts. They offer 4 sizes and you will need a total of 4 bolts. I think that they should cost something like 2-3 pounds each. You can go till 2+ deg with those Quote
siren676 Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 I have decided to try someCamber plates and have bought some Cusco ones off a mate.He says that they'll work with the standard struts and can give up to -3.25º camber.Ill post up the results once ive fitted them Quote
TrisK Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 what are camber shims like? anyone got any experience with them? Quote
siren676 Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 Not sure if they'd work on a starlet as I think the lower mount on the strut is on the wrong axis.Think it would need to be like this Quote
Sparky Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Pretty sure he means for the rear?Something I was thinking about the other day actually Quote
siren676 Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Finally got them fittedFound out my shocks were buggered so got them replaced at the same time. Quote
