Mikey Jay
K&N Panel Filters are pretty good and not too pricey either
Idrees
Get a panel filter.K&N are good, but if your budget is abit higher, i'd get the TRD!

ecksjay
the K&N's will do the same job as the TRD mate, maybe even better, the TRD's will be designed to run in japland whereas the K&N's will prob last alot longer.
shelly_star
Here's some information for you, but i dont think they really gain any power like an extra 14hp or anything.http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/
Mikey Jay
Probably need a big engined car to begin with to get those sort of gains

shelly_star
cheers for the link shelly it was very helpfull for making my mind up for what kind of filter to get. no problem
Glanza_Ragger
to be honest, i highly doubt any of the panel filters will make much difference in power.as long as its a perfomance panel filter they will all filter about the same.
Squeak-Glanza
a think il get the Apexi filter after seeing that test as it came out on top, but im sure ill find out how good it is when its fitted
GL4NZ4
a think il get the Apexi filter after seeing that test as it came out on top, but im sure ill find out how good it is when its fitted to be honest, I can't see any open cone filter to be better then the other, some might filter better but they all will suffer from heat soak during hot weather.Best to keep the standard airbox but with an uprated filter, I wish I had! But then I wouldn't hear the addictive induction noise! And boost creep will be issue when you uprate the air induction.
Glanza_Ragger
you shouldnt get any boost creep with just an induction filter on. be it either external cone or internal panel filter. if you do you have a problem with your wastegate lolheatsoak is a major issue with fitting an induction filter on in place of the airbox, really if you want an open filter you should locate it straight off the turbo, to the front grill along with porting the wastegate. OR panel filter the air box
