LeeG
pikey lsd gbox. would only b if your were only using it for drag racing
Josh@TunerLifestyle
so its like an lsd? he did say it did clunk, how much would it cost to have a normal box but in place? well how much do boxes go for?
Simon
£200 ish for a good gearbox mate fitting on top of that, would be really suprized if it had got a welded diff but if this has been done i'd be very wary of the rest of the car.
Josh@TunerLifestyle
is it dangerous driving with it like it is?he says he has been driving it as his daily no problem,by the way this is the car that is on tgtt with the carbon bonnet and the toms kit, rest of the car looks really good bar a couple of cosmetic bits ie crack on the bumper and a scratch on the doorthinking is it worth buying the car and having the diff put rite?can the diff be changed without taking the gearbox off? or will it need a new box ?cheers josh
Josh@TunerLifestyle
http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showth...-s-Kitted-95-GTheres the car, what you think guys needa make a decision!
mech5107
Welded diff is like no diff. Only place that something like this would have actual value is track usage or drag racing. In order to tackle a corner properly, the car should actually lift the front inside wheel. Otherwise is not usable
Josh@TunerLifestyle
thanks for this guys, looks like I've just wasted a 270 mile round trip to look at a really nice looking gt with a dirty secret ;)
Josh@TunerLifestyle
then again i could buy thissshttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Starlet-Turbo-EP82-EP91-4EFTE-Gearbox-36-000-miles-A1-/180679403510?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a1154e7f6#ht_7415wt_907recon its worth buying the car and doing this ? as i said the cars mint apart from some slight bodywork issues, carbon bonnet is perfect! Josh@TunerLifestyle
Bump! What you think guys? Get the car and change the box or not bother?
Starbuck
Not being funny, but if its the TGTT one, then i'd say make a cheeky offer to negate the fact you'll need to replace the welded diff......Its at a good price IMO with the bits on it. I mean thats almost £1000 with the carbon bonnet and TOMs Kit.Also if you dont like the carbon bonnet you can gve it to me.....LOL
