tez
New. Update. After post 3Actuator was stuck open. I've undo it. Went for a quick test. And I can now get one green boost light but nothing more. Not alot of turbo pressure there at allCarnt find any leaks. Could this be the actuator not holding flap down?Any other ideas?Hello again lolRight stuck my stock actuator back onWent for a drive. Hit boost. Went to 1 bar n went popNo boost. Engine management light came on n went off again. But no whistling like a leak. It boosts as 0.2 bar so slow lol n only seems to come in at higher revsNo leaks as I took the piping off and can feel turbo pressure under revs. Not on idleNo oil in ic pipingN no whistling. Dv works as I can see it going in and out. Ideas?Stock actuator is onVac hose from actuator to turbo. And the spare one on actuator at back is blocked off!
Glanza_cl
something has defiantly popped off. Is the actuator arm still connected the the turbo? is there a split in any of the vac lines?it also might be in safe mode.... try re setting the ecu.
tez
Nope. Yes actuator is on. Had to put a bolt and 2 nuts on but yes attachedVac lines on back inlet. Turbo checkedNo exhaust leaksNo intercooler leaks. Could it be the wastegate flap came off?
BearFaceOfDoom
Standard actuator shouldnt be able to boost to a bar :S Unless the wastegate didnt open
tez
Reset ecu by taking battery off yea? That's what I thought actuator is free to move by hand is just less effort to move than a hks one?
TrisK
standard actuator wouldnt boost at bari would have guessed that it wasnt connected, didnt open the wastegate, so the turbo boosted freelythen maybe it cracked the wastegate udner the pressure (or made the crack bigger(all ct9s have them))now its leaking boot from the wastegate?just a theory
tez
Update on number post one.
WallaceGlanza
The second port on the stock actuator should be connectod to the hi/lo solenoid or a boost controller otherwise it will run the base setting of the stock actuator - since its old and weak it could well be 0.2bar.I would fit the HKS and set it up properly at 0.8bar doing the runs in 4th gear and use a bit of trial and error to set the length. One main thing though - take it easy when doing it! There's no need to just hammer the throttle every time, ease the boost up to see where it settles so you don't hit fuel cut all the time! The HKS will hold boost better if setup properly.
tez
Ive got a jam ecu buddy! No high lo solenoid attached!I've done a few figures from hksJust measured 128mm at 0.5/0.6 bar So going to 126mm should be 0.7/0.8I had 123mm at 1.1 bar. This in second gear n first gear launches. Due to my drive being not that big lol
WallaceGlanza
Do it in 4th, if you set it up in the lower gears it will sit higher in 4th/5th. The JAM ecu may only have raised the fuel cut level slightly, the pop and engine management light coming on like you describe is what fuel cut does. Also the JAM ecu won't do anything to effect the boost level.Just find a nice long quiet piece of road and have a play there to set up the HKS.
tez
Reset again! Now at 0.65 bar lol in first and 0.7 in second. Going to buy a ebc and control it from that! Would that be my best decision?I carnt as I'm not insured hense the driveway driving lolCheers your for help dude. Are the blitz Dual sbc any good?Easy to wire in? WallaceGlanza
Is that with the HKS yeah? If it is just leave it at that, no need to get the ebc unless you need it - but you'll only find that out once you hit the road!
tez
I want to run 1 bar. But not till I hot the road. Learn about the boost and what it's peaking at in 4th n 5thYea with the hks.
