Taggy
Well as no one else has made a guide on how to make a EP70 turbo conversion, i thought i would have a bash at it, so you can also take the piss out of my Welsh Accent. Car was originally a 1.0 litre, this guide shows how to fit a 4E-FTE turbo charged engine in it (while also keeping its original looks)So here goesEP70 Starlet Turbo conversion (This is a sleeper build)The Starlet to be convertedA completely standard 1E, 1.0 litre(50hp) Mk2 EP70 Toyota Starlet - 1986http://www.flickr.com/photos/bloke/sets/72157627453619308/The donor car for the conversion (my old ep82 track car)The end result of the conversion (Sleeper/Turbo power!)Except its gone from 55hp to about 201bhp!Tools requiredI recommend getting your self the Halfords Advanced Tool set, £99 its really good quality and contains practically all the tools you need.Soldering IronDrillLots of cups of teaA handy friend to help!Equipment required An ep70 StarletAn Ep82 Donor carA complete 4e-fte engineA complete FULL EP82 wiring loomDifficulty rating This is as hard as it gets so 5/5 spanners by Haynes standards, it took me 2 and half months to complete, but i had to figure it all out myself and I have documented everything that will trip you up. So you should be able to complete it in half the time.Work requiredEverything that was a pain in the ass was documented with video, everything from the EP82 is a straight swap into the EP70. The easiest way i found to do it was in this order.1. Remove the old EP70 engine2. Remove the dash3. Fit in the additional EP82 Wiring loom (the car will now have two looms) one to power the engine and one to power the cars electrics.4. Wire in the ep82 ignition to the EP70 loom5. Put the engine and gearbox in6. Swap everything else over from the EP82, i.e suspension etcHave a watch of the vids below and you will get the general idea. I am always available for help if you need it.Video guide1. EP70(Boxy Starlet) 4EFTE Turbo conversion Part 1: Ignition key how to wire uphttp://youtu.be/5MQpcrv8rPg2.
