The Toffinator
Just had a bump in my beloved car. Story is i was coming on the fast lane of the motorway onto a roundabout, going straight on (which is allowed to pass slower traffic and is signed so) When a car in the left lane pulled out, by this point i was already halfway round, and obviously couldnt avoid him so swiped his side. Who is at fault? im adamant it wasnt me, im sure he was just not paying attention and didnt see me coming. The lane in which he pulled out has 2 lanes entering the roundabout (one of them dual ones) and the person on the inside stayed put as he saw me coming.Whats the crack with this???? Russleh
i assume when u say left lane u mean the road approaching the round about from your left. It depends if the road you were going onto had 2 lanes and also if you were going from fastlane across into the fastlane again in which case the other car should have been able to take a left into the slowlane. or was he going straight on ? sounds like his fault tho since u were on the roundabout. The Toffinator
Yes thats what i mean, he was approaching from my left. to go straight on the road filters into one lane, so you can use the inside of the roundabout to go straight on. I was cautious, entered the roundabout and just as i was about to indicate off (straight on) he pulled out.And he was going straight on!
LukeSR
If you was on the roundabout and he was pulling out from the junction/wherever, he is at fault.
The Toffinator
Thats what i thought! but he was adamant he was already on the roundabout when i came flying onto it . as he had checked nobody was coming and went straight on. until i suddenly hit him. I cant believe it:/
ryan lang
gutted, you okay?but also if your already on the roundabout, you have right of way
Russleh
sounds like its his fault. so many things happen this way when people dunno how to use a roundabout. hope your aight and get stuff sorted
scottyb
i'd say he was at fault.but good luck getting insurance to do anything. my sister got hit by some cow on a roundabout, pulled out into the side of my sisters corsa. but womans saying she switched lanes into her. insurance just said that it was a gray area, and after months of fucking about with them, they've done nothing. The Toffinator
Yeh ryan im okay mate, i was absolutely fuming at the time, no doubts in my mind AT ALL. was waiting for a witness to pull up behind me and nobody stopped:/ Me and dad have just drove round it and theres no way its my fault, its just not possible. only problem is he can just blag a story, and it will end up going 50/50, resulting in my probably not getting insured next year Gutted isnt the word. what a chew on
