funny onion Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 can someone please explain exactly how it works please? i understand what it is and stuff but would quite like to know the technical/mechanical side of what's involved, and how the ecu knows to limit the revs? this might sounds like a daft question to some people but any info is appreciated and i'm only asking out of curiosity lol cheers! mech5107 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Usually there is a switch to activate the launch. Usually using the switch in the handbrake. In most applications, it's only an auxiliary rpm limiter, lets say 4500rpm. You activate by pulling the e-brake and keep the throttle at 100%. The car holds 4500, but building boost. Quote
Dan507 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 In a FWD car, IMHO its pointless, in fact! It's pointless in any car unless, it's for rally or drag racing. Anti-lag is where the serious fun begins. Quote
funny onion Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 yes! anti lag is amazing! apart from at 5 in the morning at rising sun, at that time in a morning it's slightly less amazing >_< Quote
funny onion Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 i honest to god woke up thinking someone had a gun lol. it is awesome though. more appropriate for the road than launch control do you reckon then? Quote
Dan507 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Not really. you'll only benifit from anti-lag if your hooning around at 110% all the time and they really fuck up the turbos. Quote
Amjad Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I'm using a Mine's ECU and wanna switch to an EMU because of LC haha! Well that, and more powaaaa! Quote

mrkd5916 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 what ecu would be best for me to run antilag on my gt? will jist be a toy anyway have a look at omex or a motec or something on those lines, but i am not sure it worth the hassle of setting it up tho for the gains you would see, Quote
pick1 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Anti- lag over launch control bigger difference on the road and u have it set to a switch so u can use it as an when required like tunnels ha ha Quote
turbo Grant Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Set up with a arming switch and an activation switch on the clutch peddle. Run launch control and flat foot shifting that way when it's activated the ecu pulls the timing back and wont let the engine rev past set values. Quote
