Race spec fittings, fitting the braided hose to the fitting

it just wont seem to go on

i tryed washing up liquid, tryed hot soapy water but all it seemed to do was make the inner hose come out from the meal

how did all you guys get it on?

before you ask yes they are all the same size AN6 fittings with AN6 hose

It took me over 30 minutes to do each one. Screw the cap off, and get the hose end in there. Then fasten that back on to the fitting, it'll be tight but it will go on.

the hose wont even go in the end though just seems that slightly too big!

also how do i cut it to size?

Get some insulation tape and wrap it around VERY tight, that'll help.

hope i dont have this problem, should be fitting mine this weekend hopefully sent my spare rocker cover off to get the AN6 weld in's done. I have not bought the hose yet gunna get it cut to the length from my local hose company.

They are a piece of piss to fit unscrew the cap type pit on the end stride it into the pipe. Then push the braided hose onto the fitting and do the cap bit up. If you have teflon hose you need to put the olive over the plastic bit of the pipe and then push it into the fitting.

Not meaning to offend but it doesn't look like you've unscrewed the outer bit of the fitting at all?

grant im not finding them a peace of piss lol if anything the hose seems bigger than the fitting! theres no way its going in the hole!

Can't be the right size hose or fitting then. That bit should slide over easy.

must be the hose as my fittings fit to my rocker cover perfect,

Should be 8mm inside diameter of the hose

Grant yours looks a lot easier than mine too. Josh the inner side of mine was 10mm but thats because I used AN8 fittings. When looking at mine it also looked impossible but you'll get there by squeezing it

just had another go and the metal sleeve will defiantly not go inside I've had to tape it up, pull the metal sleeve back to the rubber hose, the hose fits in perfect!

I've looked at all the sizings and it seems its like 1mm too big! AN8 are larger than what i have,

it fits well like this just just not correct lol

That explains how the fitting go on. Forget the bit you can fit over the pipe and see if the hose fits over the fitting. If its miles to big then you defo have the wrong hose

grant do you have a link for where you bought your hose from? think teflon hose may be better for me
