oli_h
this is one for any of the n/a boys that have had one made up, im gona be getting one done in the next few weeks hopefully, but im still undecided as what to get the choices either straight through to the back box (dont really want it well loud) or just get rid of the cat and have a centre box, so i want to know what systems you've got and what sort of gains or anything you've had. on another note i didnt think of this until recently but the lambda goes into the cat? not sure if it does or not but when i get the system made up what do i do with it where will it go and will it affect anything? Nanglebadger
I had Powerflow do me up a full s/s system man from the downpipe back, with only the cat left in, no other boxes...and its loouuuuddddd! i gave my gf's dad a sore head one night! mines a dual exit jobbie, not exactly jap but ahwell i was young and when its clean it looks pretty cool to me so i like it!as for gains, i know its made her breath a little easier but i cant honestly d say i felt much in the way of power, maybe one or two very small, young ponies, nothin noteworthy, wont lie to u like, it is only an n/a after all is my wee motor.as for the lamda thing...i know more Cantonese words (thanks to lessons from Shelly) than i do about that sorry. i suspect Joz will be able to help u out there.Phil. oli_h
ye i wasnt really expectin major gains just it being able to breathe easier, and also the system now is starting to rot also noticed it blowing a couple of weeks ago but its not affection my fuel consumption at the minute so not overly fussed
scutch0
lamda is fitted into the pipe before the cat bud. get rid ofthe centre box lad... it has to be done!

Idrees
If you want a straight through, give me some cash with yours Bourkey's heard mine and he knows it sounds lurvlyy! Not too loud and not too quite, just medium and nice and burbly.. Unless you want a new one?!
Mikey Jay
Take away the centre box and you'll be losing backpressure, and could actually lose performace.Careful how you do it.

Fogdoggydog
I'd say you should get a custom one knocked up by powerflow or someone. You should be able to specify the sound you want from it (Mine sounds like a japanesse sports car ). And it'll not be much more than an off the shelf jobbie, unless you want to go mad and put them out the roof and all.
Starletmeech
how much is it costing?
Sparky
I have/had a duplex system with a mid box about the size of a bean can and that sounded awsome to be fair. But now im going for a boxless system with just a jap rear can. With a system with a mid box you will notice a bit more mid range poke where as a boxless system will bring the power in higher in the rev range. But them with the decat it will even out the flatspots in the midrange of 1st and 2nd gear. So I would say boxless sytem with decat SHOULD give you the best power.@Meech i just been quoted- £268 for a boxless system cat back or £309 for a system with a mid box
Mikey Jay
Sparky, is that non-wheelbarrow stylee?
Bourkey
Mines not got a middle box and i like the sound of it. When i drive hard the exhaust bangs when i change gear. And yes Idrees' exhaust sounds luvly. It purrs nicer than mine.
Mikey Jay
If you want lots of low down grunt though, am I right in thinking you need a middle box?Am currently saving towards a custom Exhaust for the Seo you see

Starletmeech
agreed! Accelleration is better, don't need that higher top speed for road driving in my opinion the quicker you can get to your desired speed the better!
Big_T-SR
Well, from experience, i'd like to add, if you don't want a loud exhaust do NOT go for a turbo exhaust. I have a full system stainless steel HKS Hi Power SILENCER (notice the caps, i thought it'd be ok because it had this word in the name lol.) cut down to fit my SR... and well... its not so silent, i like it tho, because its silent when i'm adling but adds the nicest sound when in the high revs. Nearly made shell's ears bleed when she was in the back , however, she did manage to fall asleep.. Haven't noticed anything to do with performance, but i hear that the bigger the exhaust for a turbo the better, but the smaller for a n/a the better, anyone want to correct me?Can i ask what would happen to performance or sound or nething else if i were to get rid of the center box. It's the only thing between the car and the ground. Let us know what you decided to go with mate T
