Helmet & Sizing

Hey folks. Just booked track time for japfest 2 and now turning to look for a helmet...

Got me mum to measure my head and came back with 65cm..

Looked on Demon Tweaks... All the XXL Helmets all stop at 64cm. Rang them and they said I can try any of them no problem...

Did a bit more digging, and found endless amounts of motorbike helmets that go up to freaking 70cm...

So my questions are:

1, What are the difference between Motorscycle and Motorsport Helmets...?

In the Japfest 2 Guidlines it says: "An ACU/MSA approved crash helmet is compulsory"

Does this rule out motorcycle helmets??

2, Do you think a XXL 64cm helmet will fit me? It sucks being this big somtimes.. 6ft6 is a joke

Any help or info on this would be cool!

never buy a helmet online, it needs to fit you perfectly

ive allways used this company for my helmets, there service is second to none and you will walk away with a helmet that actually fits you, not sure how far they are from you but there worth a look imo, tell them your needs and they will find you a helmet to suit

A bike helmet would be fine mate I've worn mine for track in cars before and my old man n his mates are big bikers n obviously they were there just go to any bike shop mate and start trying em

On, some will fit better than others mate depending make etc

a bike helmet would be fine for track, its only if your in a team you must have full car spec helmets OMP do them but there just black with a like yellow OMP sticker at the back i believe no quite a few people who just buy black helmets and put a little sticker on them lol. The ones for cars are made differently oddly they are stronger then bike ones and i think use flame proof material.

All makes of helmets have different fitments your better of going to a bike shop and trying them on.....there is a good on in GY call rob speeds as well depending on the foam you might find a slightly smaller one better as if its soft foam after a few wears it will start to move above helmets should always be snug at first

Been to a shop in Lincoln today, XL didnt fit for shit haha. He was ordered a XXL one in for me to try which should be ok...

Hopefully will fit or im screwed haha!

was always told never to get a bike one and get a car specific one....sure someone on here get one? rubix iirc? ask the drifters which they use

tbh, Im not going to be tracking every chance I get, prolly only going to be a few times a year, at shows maybe??

My missus has never complained about the size of my purple helmet
