yaristurbo
Questions When one wheel is raised and the other in the floor should it spin freely? When both wheels are raised when one is rotated should the other go same direction or different ?I ask because I bought a Trd mechanical diff From td04 glanzaHad it fitted and went for mapping. From reading reviews the car should lock and pull with both wheels However it didn't I nearly ended up in the hard shoulder.I contacted my gearbox specialist and he says this is not right the diff is either faulty or not as described. If I am wrong I will apologise for the mistake, if not I want the issue sorting. It's cost me a hell o a lot of money and time to build my car and don't take kindly to being messed aboutAlthough if I am wrong I will stand correct and sorry awaitsThat is all Dan
morgey
Not sure on this diff but some wont lock unless power is being fed too then from the gearbox likewise with both wheels in the air, it may seem like a standard open diff i.e rotating in oposite directions but on the floor both wheels gettin fed power it should lock both or switch between the two powered wheels.Diffs might also make torque steer worse as of both wheels are locked or switching between the two one might still have better traction say on a half wet road you would get thrown about abit by this!Well this is what I've read so could be complete b*llox lol

I will have a good read up on the mechanical diff and see if i can make sence of it!Thanks,Allan
Jamie1st
Ive got a Quiafe LSD that is in 100% perfect working order. If I jack one wheel up, it will still spin freely. This is due to the LSD only being 'active' under load.
james@cjperformance
oem lsd's when both wheels are raised from the floor the wheels will spin in the same direction, trd, quaiffe, kazz do not as they lock under load, did you fit new lsd bearings when it was fitted? turbo Grant
I know some diffs are very sensitive to what oil is used in them.
