Internal Or External?

Going TD04 as soon as my WEPR mani and downpipe is made up and delivered but need some advice. I will be running somewhere between 0.6-0.8 low boost and 1.0-1.1 high boost and would like to know if I should keep the internal wastegate or order an externally gated mani instead? I have a greddy profec b spec 2 ebc and the main things I need are a quick spool and no boost spikes.

External every day of the year not only do they look good they are a million more miles better than an internal gated turbo

Not 100% sure how the screamer works, do you need to have one with ex gated? Also has anyone tried these ex gates? I'm on a budget haha.

Dont do it get tial mate well worth the money you can have the screamer going back into the exhaust but where's the fun in that

Can't afford tial for at least another month and I'm impatient lol, plus there is no point paying 200 quid for a wastegate when a 60 quid one does the same job.

I think it's a case of pay for what u get as in I've never really heard anything

About tial where as some of the cheaper ones won't hold boost proper boost spike or just out n out brake on the person think its worth u looking a some reviews on both and see what u think

Don't skimp on a wastegate, if it fucks up and lets your turbo over boost you could quite easily finish you engine and it will cost a lot more to get that fixed!

Internal wastegate ftw anyway, they dont hear me coming till i am flying past them and i prefer it that way!

I will look at reviews on them but surely over the spring pressure it is the EBC controlling the boost anyway? My controller has a red warning light and beeper that you can set at desired pressure to warn you that you are over boosting anyway.

you can get and externally gated set up that will put your screamer straight back into the de cat. The option id go for if the budget allowed it best of both worlds.

ive just changed my shit ewg for a turbosmart one even if they do run both the same id rather have better for piece of mind !!

The stainless steel straight pipe at the bottom of the pic is the screamer pipe would go down towards the ground after coming off your EWG and open up underneath you engine so on full boost you would get the scream its down to you whether you want the screamer noise or just your usual exhaust noise mate

Havent heard one personally, quite loud i believe they only make noise on full boost tho wen the gate is open. Im sure if you youtube them you will get a few.

youtube search there are load of screamewr vid, as for wastegate im using a turbosmart and it seems shit hot!! other than that i would only use tial.

they sound awesome open when you boot it driving normaly (like a granny) you can have it so they dont open ie off bost or up to what ever you wastegate spring is mine is 0.8
