Turbo timer help....

Recommended Posts

So, for some reason my turbo timer has changed the way it wants to work?.. Usually the TT will stay on for longer if the car had been driven quite hard and will only stay on for 10 or so seconds if just cruising.

Well I have noticed that that my ignition only stays on for around 3 seconds every time no matter how the car has been driven... Also, I have a 'secret button' located in the car that disarms the Immobiliser and allows the engine to be started. Well every time I press the button before starting the engine it makes a loud beep as if I was pressing my key fob to set the alarm?

Really confused by this as its never done this before.

I am unsure of the make of Turbo timer and also unaware of its whereabouts tbh haha! It is all linked through my autowatch alarm/key fob

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Is there anything else wierd happening like you radio resetting or yor clock? Check the dome fuse under the bonnet.

No mate nothing :/?

It seems my immobilizer has stopped working all together now.. Usually you turn the ignition, press my button and then you can turn the key to start the engine.... Now you dont need to touch the button, it just starts on key :/

Sounds complex tbh mate prob a loose connection somewhere. Youll need to take it to an audio specialist or security specialist to check it out.

Out of interest do you have any idea how they got an Alarm and a Turbo Timer to work together? Does it not set off the alarm if you get out and lock it while the engine is running?

No idea mate :/ it was all on the cat when purchased, I have the receipt etc, £450 for the job lot, alarm/immobiliser/turbo timer all on my key fob.

I don't even know where my turbo timer is? Never seen it haha... It's just started behaving really weird :/

Haha i see i might look into i wouldnt have thought that would have worked so are you normally able to leave the engine running while the car is locked and the alarm is armed? Id imagine it would be up behind the plastic under the steering wheel as thats where your alarm will most likely be also.

Yes mate.. I turn the key, get out and lock the car whilst the turbo timer does its business.. 5, 30 or 1 minute depending on how hard / long she's been driven... I can also press a button on my key fob to shut off the turbo timer if I want ..

Does your doors and immobiliser and alarm all work from a key for so just a matter of getting out walking away and hitting the button and all goes to plan? I was almost certain this would of been impossible without alot of custom wiring as with your alarm armed your immobiliser would be on so therefore would have no ignition to allow the car to continue running.

It's an Autowatch - 457RLI thatcham cat 1 alarm/Imob

It was all one job as the receipt here says installation of alarm/Imob plus the alarms turbo timer...

I'm really pathetic with wires and can't find anything anywhere.. :/

Someone to help me out with this at JAE would be very handy
