Ladies and Gents,

.....Please help.

Taken it upon myself to return this year and get that outstanding Unit to achieve my HND in Mechanical Engineering. The only one i haven't got and it's the project one.

Basically they ask you to have a problem, find 3 different solutions, choose the best one, give a brief on what it should be able to do timescale and budget, a spec etc etc you see how it goes on. Various different reviews need to be done along the way.

My question is.... What to do?! My first attempt was on work stuff (Subsea Isolation Valve) but it failed, never found out what I was missing or did wrong.

So I thought I would go a bit closer to home and do something on my car?

Thoughts, suggestions experiences all welcome!

Lets see what you got!

John

On my electrical and electronic engineering HNC, I did.... When my kids stand right in front of TV, the other two couldn' t see what was on, so designed a device so the TV automatically switched off when one of them got to close untill they moved away which then the TV would automatically turn back on.

Which got me a double distinction.

I know its not mechanics but Might give you ideas of what you should be looking at doing.

Thanks for the input lads.

Congrats on the double distinction Luke!

Shorty- That is along the lines of what I was thinking also, I have to do a presentation at the end aswell! Gonna set about trying to write a brief and a spec over the next few days with a few ideas and see what one jumps out the most to me.

Any other suggestions welcome guys and girls

John
