Also I have a new battery also as the last one went flat I noticed last time I was drivin it the clocks illumination was going dim?

Is that an indication to the alternator also? Or would a bad earth drain the battery? Not to clued up on car electrics lol and im a overhead linesman haha

Put meter on battery anything around 14v is normal. (when its running).

To check current drain you can use the finer settings on the meter to check the current being drawn.

If you can't get rid off them lights you could always try removing both terminals OFF of battery and hold them togethertis will totally drain the power from the car.

the battery light comes on with the cat light so seem to be something to do with the cat temp sensor maybe faulty you dont need it you dont have a cat just disconnect it.

just read you dont have cat sensor connected, maybe the wire is shorting/touching the gearbox somewhere.
