Not something i plan on using, but i was thinking about it and it makes sense that it would work.

My understanding is that you set up a FCD so that it tricks the ECU into thinking its not running any more than 0.8bar (roughly).

This is done by altering the signal from the MAP sensor to the ECU.

Surely the same could be obtained by fitting a Dawes device to the Hose going from the Inlet mani to the map sensor. It would be installed using a T-piece and would vent to atmosphere.

So you would just set it to vent boost over 0.8bar. All a dawes device is, is a ball and spring that is tightened to not let any boost past until a certain level.

/end of crazy idea

The FCD sends pulses signals w.e and data to and from the ecu....

So with you device your just boosting like crazy and the ecu doesnt know any different has no data so doesnt allow ?

It's been done and does work Only problem is the bleed valves are unpredictable and can cause different results with every gear change. If the spring goes weak or the ball sticks dirt....... This is why it's the cheap option. Remember the saying do it cheap do it twice. :p

Would qork but would probably kill the engine after not to long. fcd's arent the grearest way either but faaaar safer. if you cant aford an fcd then imo dont up the boost
