Screaming wipers need help

Driving down the motorway my windscreen wipers started screeching really loud and this isn't like a normal screech when there on with no rain ect it's torture to my ears

Can any one advise me what this could be I wouldn't say blades as they were replaced recently

Any helps appreciated

Also it's not constantly it starts for a while then stops in no particular pattern

have you done anything to bend the recently? When i was washing my car I lifted my bonnet while my wipers were lifted any from the screen and it caused them to do this.

something trapped under the blades?

what have you washed the car with recently? i took mine to a hand car wash and they sprayed some shit on my windscreen and i had a squeek for a few hours before whatever it was wore off!

but to test wether its not the blades or not, put the wiper arms up, and turn your wipers on and if it still swueeks, it obviously isnt the blades

No not washed the car recently and or done anything to bend the arms it just came on all of a sudden on the motorway ill test them while there up in the air

Yeah man mine done this was the linkage ended up using a lot of greese to quiten it down I lost one of my piaa wipers on the drive to work this morning

Can the linkage be replaced still doing it with wipers off the screen if so were can I get this ?

This might sound silly but spray them with wd40, mine used to make a weird squeeling sound sprayed so wd40 on them and now there back to being quiet.

Yea thanks sprayed 3 in one all over them and on through the scuttle panel and its stopper happy days
