H_D Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Is there supposed to be a pilot bearing which the gearbox output shaft rests on? Quote
yaristurbo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I've never come across this, what's the reason for interest ? Quote
morgey Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 more support, on honda's it sits in the center on the flywheel/crankshaft and comes as part of a clutch kit. i guess it supports the shaft when the clutch is released minamising shaft movement and prolonging the life of the first bearing in the gearbox.that is just a guess so might be wrong lol Quote
yaristurbo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Do these boxs have trouble with main shaft bearings?Think the dowels place a big part of shaft alignment, we just had a evo smash a twin plate carbon clutch due to dowels being left out and box. Badly aligned.Depending on clearances once could be machined on a lathe? Quote
