Chris Green Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Hi guys,Looking for some advice.I fitted the 5e-fhe to my n/a yesterday. The engine started on the 1st turn of the key, which was a relief, however on tick over. The engine hasn't been running for over a minute as I don't want to cause any damage as it is a freshly re built engine. I have blocked the extra vacuum pipes, also I have plugged it in to a snap-on ethos kit and got no fault codes. I am still using the standard 4e-fe ecu.Could this be the ecu adjusting or is something not right?Cheers in advance Quote
micky boy Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Have you had the thrttle body off the inlet manifold at all?I have made the mistake of putting the throttle body gasket on the rong way and was leaking like a bitch and was reving to 3k!Im gessing the 5efhe throttle bodys dont have an adjustable idle screw like the 4efte engines? Chris Green Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Yes, it's the original throttle body that came on the 4e-fe. I will have a look and check everything is sealed up properly. Thanks Quote
ryan lang Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 if its the orignal 4efe TB on the 4efte inlet mani, that will most likely be your problem fella Quote

Chris Green Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Problem sorted, I'm an idiot. I was having a look trough Ryans how to thread for changing the tb's from the fte to the na and realises that I had taken the sensor off the end, which 3 holes in the manifold.***FACE PALM*** Quote
