I have a glanza v and the only mods too it are front mounted intercooler. Dump valve exhaust system and a turbo timer. Could I put a td04 kit on (turbo, manifold, decat downpipe, external wastegate, screamer pipe, and oil lines) and run it like that with no problems or risk of damage? Or will I need other mods to accompany the td04 conversion. Baring in mind only after a little more bhp not like 270 bhp

u could run it like that but it would only be at standard boost pressure so some what pointless. you need to get either a fcd and rrfpr if your cheap of some management if fancy doing it properly

U could run it fine at like .6 or .8 bar of boost but I would advise getting a mappable ecu like emanage blue or something along those lines so it could be checked and mapped to your set up u could run 1bar of boost on td04 without really creating any issues mate at lads on here have produced anywhere between 220bhp to 250 bhp at 1bar

So if I by the kit plus a boost controller and up'd it to 1 bar. I wont need to change injectors, fan/radiator, ecu, fuel cut out?

if you had the kit plus a boost controller you would boost to about 0.8 bar and it would feel like your car hit a brick wall. if u decided to get a plug and play ecu or some other form of management then you could whack it up to 1.3 bar before u had to touch anything else although it would be in your intrests to change out a few things like fuel pump / ht leads and what not

Typically you'll want an fpr, 255 fuel pump, boost controller, uprated ecu (or fuel cut defender to run on standard ecu), and as you've already stated the td04 kit with oil and i run water lines too but some people don't and you can just loop it but subaru put it there for a reason so i like to run it, the choice is yours though!

If your only running standard boost atm then i suggest forget about the td04 get some decent management (emanagement blue or ultimate) upgrade bits like fuel pump and and manifold and up the boost to 1bar with a decent map. Will make a hell of a difference and can reach near 200hp

No point going td04 unless your going to pay for everything else aswell

Everyone is stating the proper way here but I ran mine fine for 18months on standard fuel pump and ecu, I just used a fcd £50 and a fuel pressure regulator £70 then bolted everything up with 1bar wastegate spring and made 217bhp.

Never had a single problem !!

Azz so your saying I can run a td04 kit with front mounted intercooler. Fuel cut defender and a fuel pressure regulator, boost controller and itll be okay? Dont no what springs in the wastegate tho

Yes it would be fine pall, a piggy back ecu would possibly be safer but unnecessary if your keeping 1bar and below imo.

Many people will disagree with me I'm sure but there is a fair few that do it this way as its hard to spend 500 quid + On managment then more to get it mapped

Only £550 supplied fitted and mapped (http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/57353-emanage-blue-package-special-offer-l54900/). I ran my car for quite a while with my TD04 with a FCD and RRFPR etc and it was fine but felt so much better once it had an ECU and was mapped. Just feels smoother to drive and pulls alot better.
