leemillin
how do you know when the clutch is on it's way out?
WallaceGlanza
Find a steep hill, put your foot down in 3rd or 4th gear where the engine will be putting out a bit of torque and see if you make it up the hill, if the revs go up but you don't the clutch is slipping! AdamB
What clutch was fitted? Some clutches do require a "bedding" in stage where it will judder on take off, but will eventually wear off after around 500 mile or so.

AdamB
Hmm I would have guessed the damper springs had fallen out the friction plate, but if there are no rattles to be heard from the gearbox I doubt it would be this.

Liam_D
Might be completey wrong but could it be engine mount?? Just thinking they might have had that off to do the work they did.

Liam_D
Could be something that they haven't re tightened. Just a bit weird how it's started since the work has been done.

leemillin
I could try but then they might try around n say its not them but i've only had the problem from when the cambelt was done. Does cambelts need wearing in?

AdamB
Nah cambelt will be fine straight from the word go. I would just ask the procedure they took in undertaking the cambelt change. If they say the removed the engine mount then your problem could be there. Sounds a bit better than going in all guns blazing and start pointing the finger. You could try getting a friend to rev the engine and look under the bonnet, see how much movement the engine has. It should be as little as possible. Turbo Goose
Mine has juddered nearly the whole time I've had it when setting off. Does it intermittently, like not all the time. I always putting it down to cluch slipping slightly but grippin and then slipping then gripping so gives a judder.and Adam, you say something about a spring? My gearbox sounds like its knocking like fudge when your sat in the car, sounds like a bottom end knock although you can'r here it at all when out the car. Could it need a clutch? Not trying to jack thread here just curious
leemillin
I just went had had my car checked at toyota n my clutch is on its way out. I can get a new one with fitting for £253. Is that good? The cambelt is all sorted now, they put it on wrong lol
RandomDan
I dont know if its been mentioned but if the clutch gets really heavey the clutch is on its way out too!
Turbo Goose
i would stay away from main dealers, they'll have your pants down for parts and labour. Find a reputable garage if you don't want to do the work yourself
