MOT in Bedfordshire area

Recommended Posts

Ok no worries there are a couple of freindly M.O.T testers in leicester that i know very well. I am sure they will sort you out as i have had M.O.Ts done for other perfomance enthusiasts and starlet owners too.

Let me know when you are ready.

On what car? Of its glanza or gt it doesn't matter about a cat. They should do a vehicle specific test (if they follow the manual properly) and the machines in the uk do not have glanza or gt on their databases. So it has to meet the minimum requirements I.e a non cat test. If its a uk n/a then you have to have one. I'll try to find the details online when I get in.

It all comes down the the M.O.T testers discretion on this im afraid!

you just need a tester who knows about his import cars.

Plenty of people on here have failed M.O.Ts as the tester did not know fuk all about non uk equivalant rules.

check this from the current MOT testers manual.

if you follow the flow chart it simply tells you to carry out a vehicle specific test. by the way this is after the vehicle has failed a standard cat test.

:)

this works for ep82's and early glanza models.

the default limits are specified at the end of that flow chart. failing your car on the emissions is a good possibility. who is to say you didnt get the engine from a gt? :D

I had a fiesta many moons ago. it started life as a 1.3 single point injection but the engine had been removed. It was a 1995 car or M reg.

I also had another fiesta 1.6s. The 1.6 was a H reg. I transplanted the 1.6 into the 1.3 shell and took it for mot. The tester immediately said it would fail on emissions.

I consulted my local Vosa testing station in beverley and got a firm answer. The emissions should be relevent to the age of the engine not the age of the car. So i booked my fiesta in for a retest with the same garage that failed it. I informed the Vosa station that i had re submitted my fiesta for testing. I was plesently supprised to see the Vosa testing van in the car park awaiting my car for test.

After a "dissagreement" with the Vosa tester the Mot tester was put on the straight and narrow. Needless to say the fiesta was never a problem on emissions ever again.
