StuDoc 72
The facelifted mini coopers are turbo charged, got rid of the supercharger back in 2006Sunnys are seriously awful! Had a set on my old clio and hated them. Rainsport 2s on the starlet though, may be the best tyres ive had tbh. Did they? The supercharger was the best part about them lol. scottyb
Did they? The supercharger was the best part about them lol.Yeah haha, its the the same 180bhp thp engine thats in the peugeots and citroens now
daniel_g
The supercharged mins were all SOHC iirc. The one they use now is the THP engine, few different power outputs, ds3 racing has a 200 bhp ish version, quite bad for coilpacks though. Think its a BMW engine but, not 100 %. scottyb
Its built jointly between bmw and psa, the diesel is a peugeot engine though.
daniel_g
That diesel engine is used by every manufacturer going haha, mazda, volvo, ford, citroen, peugeot etc. I work in citroen and its in just about every car throughout the range.

This is true, im in the turbo trade and the amount of turbos we get in due to oil starvation issues on this engine is ridiculous. Defiantly the worst engine ever. daniel_g
There was a recall on some of them where you had to replace just about everything turbo/oil related haha. I've got a few of those turbos kicking about that i was gonna scrap, some sort of tiny TD02 ? Might put one on the GT for a laugh haha.
Liam_D
Yeah there TD02 matey! We recommend new sump, banjo bolts, pipes everything and they still come back to us with starvation issues!
daniel_g
In the recall you replace that lot ^ + the airbox, strainer, the intercooler etc. And still it doesn't fix it haha, fucking french shit. I'm a hyundai tech, but occasionally have to work on citroen... Infact, it was a fucking citroen i had to fit those wa-king-li tyres to.
