Has anyone removed the water pipes and joined them together instead of heating the inlet. Thanks.

I've heard of Yairs owners doing this, I'm not sure what purpose the pipes serve going through the TB/Inlet.

i think your talking the throttle body being heated up?

if so you can do this one n/a no problems, but on a 4efte engine the coolant controls the idle through the wax stat. ( attached to the bottom of throttle body)

you will then have to block the wax stat and control the idle through the idle screw if you want to do this.

its to stop the throttle body icing up and controls the idle

did this on my N/A after a short motorway run coming onto a roundabout the revs sat at 1k/bounced around continually unless it was really warm day, i monitored it over 6 months it also did it way after the coolant was up to temp starting from cold around town

I would leave it as it is, if you have shitty ebay intercooler /piss poor pipe route id look at that first...also consider removing the coolant lines from the turbo

Even with the worlds best intercooler route it would still have an effect. I can see where the OP is coming from. Ceramic coat the inside of the tb? Lol that's the only other option I can think of :p

Cooling the turbo does actually have its benefits aswell... Without it being cooled (although on some turbos just oil is fine) they can reach ridiculous temperatures which is another cause for cracks in the wastegate/fails.
