Chasing Up Previous Owners

Does anyone know if there's a way to find previous owners of your car?

I had mine recovered from a guy in Scotland when I bought it a few years back & wouldn't mind getting in touch with him but have no details for him. Guess its a 'confidentiality' thing?

Any service history etc with the car? That usually has previous addresses stamped on them

I think dvla can help in some way with it, so I've heard..

I think what the lads on the ford rs owners do is good.

They keep a data base of all the cars, owners,modifications,milage etc

I think DVLA can provide current registered owners details, but they'll only give them out if you have a 'valid reason' to need them i.e. someone driving away from an accident etc. They also charge a small fee I think.

Not sure if they do this for prior owners as well as current ones though, but can't hurt to ask

Not sure tbh- was long time ago!

He was called Neil, i got it off tgtt- but no-one seems to remember him

I made sure I added my cars old owner on Facebook, so if I ever need any info prior to my ownership I can just send him a message!
