Guest Enzo
naa its defo ofline, check this out mate,ii got the idea for the highland tour from readin what the mgf owners club do every year, they dont hold back, they kin it if the conditions are right, sent an email to the guy that organises it for it askin advice on how to go about it and what are the best zim roads, these guys have been doin it for years so have the geographical knowhow, and will take you across contry at fast pase!so have been speakin to this geeza all week and this is what he sent todayGeo, Iâ??ve been playing with numbers all day to try and make things work without a lot of success, then it occurred to me that youâ??ve already got 6 people interested with the possibility of a few more â?? why not have a Starlight Highlander? Would you be interested in putting that together? If youâ??ve looked at the CSMGF website youâ??ll have noticed â??Driving Scotlandâ?ÂÂ. This is something that Gerry Hiorns and myself run. If you fancy, weâ??ll put together a route that will take you over some of the best driving roads that Scotland has to offer. However, instead of leaving you to your own devices weâ??ll also come along to make sure that everyone has a good time and nobody got lost. How much is all this going to cost I hear you ask? Well how about a contribution towards our petrol â?? say £5 per person per day. For that weâ??ll organise a route, accompany you and book suitable accommodation. All that youâ??d need to do is tell us: When you want to go and for how long. How many people will be going. What type of accommodation youâ??d want, and Any particular places that you want to go or see The only thing to bear in mind is that if youâ??re booking accommodation for a group as much notice as possible is required to ensure that everyone gets into the same place. Do you fancy it? If so, just let me know and Iâ??ll start on it right away. Youâ??ll then be able to give some more details on your Forum, which hopefully will result in some more of the Starlight Club wanting to join in. Regards, Davidhow does that sound to you mate!! its just an idea though

Guest Enzo
want to rectify this thred as its something id really like to do the week the weather starts getting good as its close, this post fizzled out due to money constraints from a few membersnever actually posted up the reply to one of the tour guides in defence to what he wrote,Geo,It's David Here. I didn't want to post directly to the Forum, I just dropped in to have a look. smile.gifFirst of all I apologise for calling your cars "Starlights" it was a typing error. I actually have a Yaris myself (as well as an MGF, MGZR, Fiat Punto and a Audi engined turbo VW Beetle) and a friend had a Starlet, although not as powerful as the ones you have. blink.gifReading your members' comments I got the impression that they thought that we were "old and past it" and that we'd have trouble keeping up. Maybe I should tell you that we both have a motor sport history - Gerry in racing and me in rallying. Both our cars have been modified quite a bit and Gerry has a Civic Type R engine and gearbox in his MGF. In fact if you look at the CSMGF website you'll see that we're just back from the "Ring" where Gerry clocked up speeds of over 150mph (according to his GPS). I think that you'd just need to ask the younger mebers of our group if we hold them back and you'll probably be told that some have problems keeping up with us.You'll obviously realise that we're not out to rob you, since the offer I made you will mean both of us will have to contribute to the cost of the tour. All I was trying to do is give you the benefit of our experience and enjoy a few days running over some great fun roads. To be honest when I discussed it with Gerry we were both looking forward to a few days away ourselves and even at this very early stage we were talking about routes and places to stay.I should also point out to you, just in case your members think that it's us playing instruments at the Drovers, they had nothing to do with us - it's only a picture.Regards,Davidim up for doin this like as the roads are amazing any of you northern irland/scottish guys up for it,will start a new post for this
