how do you lower d2 coilovers

alrite everyone I've just been out to try lower my v shes on d2 coilovers I've got the bottom spindle open but they dont seem to turn any help on this would be great

I got one open but the other one wont turn I've put a load of wd40 and I've been hitting it with a hammer to try release it any other ideas lads

The locking rings tend to seize solid on coilovers after a period of time. Best thing to do is to soak it in some WD40 for a few hours then try and release them using a C spanner, or knocking them round, even try some heat if you are able to get to some oxyacetylene. Failing that you'll have to cut them off and get new rings.

Its not the rings its the threaded bar that goes into the bottom of the coilover that wont move I've left it soakin in wd40 and il give it another go tomoro

You got to move the mounting bud wind it up or down

Put it in a vice mate, should come easily then.

Im gonna try get a plumbers wrench tomoro and get it with that is been soakin in wd40 since today and i just put more on there so hopefully it will turn then

You'll destroy the threads on the shock doing that! You would be better to remove the coilover and put it in a vice (with soft jaws) then smack the bracket until loose.

If you do put it in a vice, which is your best bet, cut up an old rubber car floor mat to protect your coilover from vice teeth.

Try and get a hold of paraffin and use that as a lubricant, its a lot better than wd40. And obviously give it some gutty with a deadblow mallet. It should budge then If not then get the blowtorch out.

When youre happy with the height give the threads a good paint in copper grease and you can even tie strap a bike tyre tube around them too.
