Problem Shooting!! help needed asap

Recommended Posts

ok so as u know my SR conversion is bein a cunt and givin me grief at the final hurdle!

Now after sortin the TPS, turns out thats not the problem, the engine management light is on and im now sure that after comparin my vac pipes with a glanza, that ALL are present and correct.

a checklist of everythin that has been checked at least once

  • earths
  • all vac pipes
  • all sensors
  • ecu and wiring
  • fuelling will be checked after i get a rubber grommet that fits and stops the fuel pishin all over my bay again

Now the question is, how the fuck after i cover the throttlebody is the engine STILL not cuttin out after ALL the vacs are checked, connected properly and NO splits?

I've got 1 plug on the thermo housin that the 96loom does NOT fit as im sure the thermo housin is from a 98 and the plug is different?

Would the fact this plug not being connected cause the engine management light to come on and fuck the ECU up causin the engine to hunt on idle or would it be the fuel pump not gettin enough through to the engine? it starts fine after about 10secs of crankin over!

Anyway,heres the plug in question........

2013-08-06200158_zpsd817e343.jpgPLEASE PLEASE HELP! as this is the ONLY thing stopin her from bein on the road!

I NEED TO MAKE IT TO JAE.

thanx in advance

That is the engine management water temp sensor. That would defo help it run better if connected. But if the engine still runs after blocking the throttle body off you have a good leak. That so called idle valve on the end of the manifold I would block that off. Just block off all the ports you don't need for a start. Leave the map and frp connected. See how it runs then

Is that a two or three pin coolent temp sensor ?

If its a three pin no where in the uk will be able to supply you one, your have to order one from the states www.rockauto.com if I remember correctly :D mine went tits up and was a three pin and ordered it from them in no time :)

Two pin tuning developments will be able to get you :)

Ohh and they are both different sizes as I found out !

its a 3 pin but the shape of it does NOT allow it to connect to any of the available plugs. so im presumin its a 98spec 1 asmy looms a 96 1

Post up some pics of your plug/s you have left to plug in the temp sensor. See if we can work out what sensor you need. Be better to get the right one for the loom. And the so called idle valve is the one bolted to the end of the inlet manifold.
