oil light comes on wen on tick over need help asap

My oil light comes on wen on tickover and wants to cut out any suggestions need asap!

This is the engine oil yes?

Does it come on and stay on, or does it flicker?

If it flicker's it's most likely the oil pressure switch on the front of the block, located next to the exhaust manifold.

Yea mine used to flicker then it simply stopped

Whats ure idle at and if its ok the next step is to fit a new oil pressure switch.

This happened to me on my very first engine, oil pressure switch if flickering.

It flickers and the cuts out after ive been driving a while and ive check oil was half full so ive topped it up not had chance to check it since cheers guys

If your idle is low it will cause the light to flicker because there is little oil pressure.

Your best bet is to figure out why it's idling low, vac leak etc, idle control valve etc.
