russ78
cheers craig luckily enough I have another head gotta get it pressure tested first make sure its tip top and a new HG but at least I have a definitive answer
russ78
im guessing it must be a hairline crack in the head as I don't get bubbles like that when its cold nor the crap compression results ?
Taggy
All those bubbles will no doubt be compression leaking into the rad system, which is why its overheating, still a fucker though!! Could still be just a dodgy HG, but i would change the head to be sure, just make sure you get it skimmed. Did you get the block decked? Taggy
just out of curiosity was this head ok before you had it forged?
mikey4410
I thought that aswell.meant to ask.maybe its just a headgasket that hasnt been dun up correct( no offence russ) or reused headbolts? Just throwing ideas out there as to why this has happened.
Taggy
i would say its unlikely to be a cracked head if it was ok before, its much more likely to be a duff HG, in any case you will know once you take the HG off, if its not obvious then get the head tested at your local machine shop or just stick the other head on
