new member, Glanza V advice please!

Recommended Posts

hey all, I'm new here, I've come from a VAG background so please be gentle 8)

I'm going to look at this tomorrow afternoon... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/starlet/toyota-starlet-sun-roof-glanza-v-forged-5e-1998/1513473 I don't really have any jap experience apart from a Charade GTti about 15 years ago, which was awesome.

two things - 1, what do you think of the car? does it sound good? the spec on paper seems pretty impressive to me but I'm going in blind, I've never driven a Glanza or have any experience of them. and 2) do you know of any jap specialists in Essex? I did a quick Google search but it didn't come up with much. I don't want to buy something that no one will work on!

many thanks in advance!

Not really dude, might just mean it's not what everyone was looking for, I wanted a nice white or red one hence how I seen this one but fell in love with mine. I'm sure someone has more details than me on the car as I'm a newbie sort of haha

Welcome.

Ask to see some receipts for the work.

definitely, I've had this a few times recently - massive spec lists but no real evidence to back it up. "my mate did most of the work so I haven't got receipts" etc, hmm.

true, awesome cars remain for sale for aaaaages on the VAG forums, I guess nothing much is selling quickly at the moment.

I was gunna go and check this out, the guy sounded pretty knowledgeable. apparently td supplied him with all the bits which he has receipts for! good luck with it anyway, it would be a monster if you get it

Thanks guys. I didn't go to view that one on Pistonheads. I did, however, take a little trip up to Newcastle on Friday evening, and returned home with Iamlegends's black Glanza :hi: the quickest car I had ever driven before that was a 100bhp Charade GTti, so you can imagine my reaction when I had a little play on the M1 on the way home... holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. It's a beast.
