The reason why is to maintain clean and fresh oil, with a newly built engine theres going to be a lot of metal swarf flying around that you don't want to get into particular areas like bearing shells or turbos etc which will cause damage.


Changing it often reduces the chances of any damage occuring :)

Yea its a little hard to get your head around at first Pat but it makes sense when all is explained.



Also AdamB's the man you want to query regarding anything engine-wise, top lad and a great help
