ash p
So I have decided to go for a forged 5e tdo4 set up however I see alot of fast road starlets running high compression 5e engines is this achieved only by the pistons and rods used? Also advantages of these engines and what machine work is needed to build one?
Turk
theres certain ways of acheiving this, the most common is piston, but to increase compression you can also skim the head, deck the block, thinner head gasket. so yh there is alot more ways.and i recon a high comp engine is better if you ask me. this is because its much more powerful off boost. but i can say without a dought a good engine these days depends on your engine management and tuner. Chris Green
JoelEP91 is building a super high compression 5e, albeit N/A, but he had custom pistons made, think they are forged. Might be worth dropping him a PM.
H_D
If your looking to run high compression it might be worth getting in contact with CP pistons in USA and ask about their flat top pistons. They have 5e pistons on the shelf and only takes 2 weeks to deliver.
