Low Idle after Hot Start

Hi Chaps,

The Glanza has an interesting issue at the moment.

When it starts from cold, no issues at all, and when its warm, its not too bad.

However, if I need to restart from Hot (such as after popping into the supermarche) it idles very low after restarting.

I have a voltmeter, and it shows the volts drop down to 12v when this happens. However, if I drive for a little bit, the revs recover and come back up to about 800 revs and 14.2 volts.

It's only from starting it does this, if the car is hot and i sit in traffic there are no issues.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Mine is like this. It doesn't like starting from hot either. I think it's a coolant temp sensor issue

Mine does that too, and think its coolent temp sensor Aswell

Mine used to do this! Tuning Developments fitted me a Greddy Emanage and upped my idle on Saturday and it seems to have solved the issue.

Mine does too. Actually the problem started after I changed the thermostat base housing (for the turbo water feeds) as I had NA housing (without the turbo water feeds) for some reason. Could the turbo's heat soak make the sensor read too high value and cause the idle problem?

If the sensor were defective, it should cause the other problems too, shouldn't it?
