Banbury Glanza
My starter motor has been on the way out for a while and finally give up the other day, so got another one and sent it to the garage to be changed. But the old one they took off was bigger than the new one, and the new one doesn't have the power to turn my forged engine over. Has anyone else had this problem with a forged engine and know any solutions or other starter motors that will fit??Thanks
daniel_g
I know the winter pack starlets had a different alternator, maybe they had different starters too. Is your battery fully charged ? It should start it if its an FTE starter.
Banbury Glanza
Yea battery is 100% mate, the starter is of another car I just don't have a clue what or the new one I have is wrong :/ I'm pretty sure it was fitted at TD when I had the engine done, I'm waiting to hear back from mike @TD to see what he says. Does anyone have a good clear pic of a Glanza starter motor ??Thanks Edited November 16, 2013 by Banbury Glanza

Banbury Glanza
Hard to say 100% but I don't think it did, the one I borough looks smaller and thinner.

rmsnoel
Toyodiy.com check the partnumber. Yeah winter models had different altenators and starters. 1.0kw
AdamB
The UK N/A ones are the same mate, get them from a local motor factors. It being a forged engine will make no difference unless its high compression which I doubt it is.
