Hello all

I've now been driving my Glanza for about 2 weeks and its mainly been too work and back so its during the peak time. When i get the chance too i do kick the turbo in but its not that often. I've only ran it on Lo boost at moment. However i'm a bit concerned about the Turbo and i have a few queries.

* The 3 (green) lights on the rev meter, i presume tell you what psi your turbo is running. Sometimes the first light comes on at 2 revs, however the light goes off at 3 revs and its just all random??? I took it to 5 revs and the first 2 lights came on. When does the third light come on, Is this normal?

* When does the turbo actually kick in interms of how many revs should i be hitting for each of the 3 lights.

* Is there any difference to when driving in Hi boost in relation to the lights coming on the rev metre?

I've tried to do a bit of research on this by looking at Glanza rev and speed metres on Youtube. I find some of them are similar to mine whereas others will have their turbo lights on all the way as soon as they go over 3 revs.

Any views of information would be very much appreciated.

Any views on the other queries i had (especially the first 2) :-

The green lights, like the circular pie gauge on the ep82's....is rubbish. It's just a visual indication really of what the car is doing.

The turbo in simple terms is driven/triggered by the ammount of throttle you give it. I can drive the wifes Glanza at 5k revs easily with no boost showing. It'll only come in under certain load/speed conditions. So flooring it in say second gear from low revs (2k) will see the lights come on in quick succession, backing off a little may only show 1 light as less pressure is being produced.

I think positive boost comes in from around 2100?? could be out with that....but the lights aren't related to the revs specifically.

Driving in hi boost might see the lights come on a little sooner (and the third light...as hi boost produces more boost..0.65 if I recall?)

Get yourself a boost gauge, very easy to fit...job done.

Stop worrying over nothing!!!!!!!! :)

If you have plenty boost it's fine

if you have no boost it's got a problem

If you have blue smoke you have a problem

If you have white smoke you have a problem

Pretty lights in the dash mean nothing unless red or orange

Just enjoy driving the bloody car and start paying more attention to the road instead of 3 silly lights that don't mean a great deal.
