mikey4410
heya guys, yesterday I removed the throttle body water supply and bypassed it so no water runs through it as I wanted to get some lower inlet temps . now when the car got warm my usual 600 rpm idle went all the way up to 2000 rpm. obviously theres a valve in there of somesort that opens and shuts with warm/cold water.I removed the black cap and screwed the screw so the idle went down to 1000 but its still to high and thats as low as it goes. my question is has anybody had a throttle body apart and seen this idle control unit and how easy is it to mod to get idle constantly low without having to touch the screw under the black cap. mikey
Chris Green
There's the guide from TGTT http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showwiki.php?title=Idle+Control+Valve+Removal+and+Cleaning
mikey4410
no not the idle control valve.the "wax stat" I think its called. its a small unit under the throttle body mate.it opens and closes with hot/cold water and affects idle

Jim*
I've taken it apart and cleaned it out before it can be removed to clean budI believe it kinda works like the thermostat which opens up once up to temperature
