Dyno Torque figures

Recommended Posts

Got my car dyno'd on Saturday,

Running .6 bar of boost standard ecu and engine on a hybrid.

The car made 129 BHP at the wheels.

And it made 184 NM's of torque at the wheels, how do I work this out to flywheel torque.

I was told a rough estimate to get flywheel BHP is 20% of WHP and add it on.

How do I workout the flywheel torque?

It's around 15%ish losses through the transmission on a FWD motor.

Why do you need to know the fly power? It's the power at the wheels that counts. Besides dynos read wheel power then convert to fly power on the overrun.

all depends on the rolling radius of the wheel. best bet is to mark a point on the bottom of the tyre wall with some tape and another paralell mark on the floor, roll the car forward by hand until the tape is back facing the floor, then measure the distance, this gives the circumference but allows for some tyre deformation aswell.

what gear the run was in, the gear ratio for that gear and your final drive

if you can get me that info ill work it out for you.
