littlegreenmonster Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 If you were to install one and a turbo charged 4efe would that then allow you to runs the low boost without the ecu shitting itself and bringing in fuel cut ?? Just a queiry and please feel free to cyber slap me if I have missed something glaringly obvious as to why it wouldn't work Quote
Xpect Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 The ECU can't cope with any kind of boost. I can't really explain it in english, sry. Quote
littlegreenmonster Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Ahhhh I have been thinking about it and I can see any reason why it wouldn't be able to handle it but unless someone can point out why im stumped lol Quote
richardc9052 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Ever seen the twin engine starlet on toyotaownersclub-irl? He had both 4efe's running with RRFPR and lambda sensor removed. Standard map sensors in place.. it drank fuel but my god it was quick! Quote
littlegreenmonster Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 Nah I haven't and did he turbo charge them like that ?? Quote
richardc9052 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 yeah he turbo'd them both! - wasnt overly reliable when abused like this though..The engines had been turbod for a few months at this stage and got serious abuse, this video, we had to run a 2 meter pipe from the breather to the outside of the car so i didnt get sprayed with oil, engine was in a bad way at this point (just my luck).. I then next run the owner was driving again and the head lifted and covered the inside of the car with oil and ended the day (dont have a vid of that unfortunately)Heres my run: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10201271549778156&l=225802550222260499 Quote
littlegreenmonster Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 Holy shit balls !!!!! That really is quick !!! How did he do it ?? Quote
richardc9052 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 What the two engines or turbo'in them? Quote
richardc9052 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Hope no one minds me posting this?? but here is the full build thread:http://www.toyotaownersclub-irl.com/t7795-twin-engined-starlet-bimoto-26-twin-turbo Quote
littlegreenmonster Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 I haven't got an account so I can't see it, got one for this site bud ?? Quote
littlegreenmonster Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 also what is an rrfpr ?? I'm assuming fpr stands fpr fuel pressure regulator ?? Quote
richardc9052 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 No, it is only on TOC.. youd have to make an account Quote
dan106 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Just read that whole thread, how havent i seen that before! And just to clarify, non turbo ecu's can only handle minus intake pressure (vaccum) whereas boost is a plus intake pressure, if that makes sense? Quote
richardc9052 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 the map sensor doesnt read boost and even jf it could the n/a ecu wouldnt know what to do with it.. it doesnt have fuel cut though so if you have a fprto continue rising fuel the ecu will just read WOT signal from map sensor.. he removed/unplugged the 02 sensor so the ecu wouldnt try to correct the rich a/f ratio.. Retarded timing helps too.. but really you would want an emanage to control it properly.. With this setup his car was drinking fuel! He has since switched to an ep70 and will be doing the same again, 2 engines. but this time 4efte and more boost. Quote
littlegreenmonster Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Ahhhhh i I thanks guys it was just a thought I had but it wouldn't work worth a shot though Quote
