Nasty Noise

Hi guys, not been around for a while, being at uni and all.

thing is my car makes a nasty metalic rattle/grinding noise. this occurs wen i go over bumps. but mainly wen i drive between speed bumps, leave it in second nd take myu foot off the gas.

i dont get it. first thort was gearbox but it i rev it hard on standstill it sounds like its commin from the back. maybe its the exhaust as there only one clip. Anyone know it i can get another fitted?

Yeh sounds like exhaust. Don't know what yours looks like, but my mate had the same problem, we just tightened up the origional brackets, maybe they worked loose or something.-

sounds like exhaust to me mate, check all bolts on exhaust,and rubber mountings at the back box,it could be hitting the rear axle

or it could be your cat,thats fucked inside mate,thats if you have one

hmmm yer ill have another look. could be hittin the axel actually.

the one clamp is shit, can i fit another to make it firmer anywhere?

defo the exhaust have the same problem sounds really bad and serious mechanically. real pain in the ass

cats dont make metallic noises, 4efte has a ceramic catalyser...

you shoud tell if its your exhaust its a pretty distinct noise. give your backbox a kick...

if not it could be a wheel bearing on its way to heaven. they make grinding noises when dying.

just a thought check your cat cover, as mine used torattle/vibrate whaen ticking over ax the cover was falling off and vibrating agaisnt the cat!!

^^^mine did the exact same as Robs! sounded awful till i ripped it off!

saying this mine makes a nasty grinding noise when on full lock to the left butnot the right!?!?! so i just avoid full lock

ok cheers guys ill get it up nice and high and check. i had a nasty rattle with my manifold cover.
