JDMfreak Posted February 16, 2014 Share Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) well all i sold on the green glanza a while back and then bought a golf GTI it was fun to drive nice car but not what I was wanting got it cheap so used it for a bit then sold it on. So a few days ago I went to Carlow to pick up this spoke to the lad on the phone asked a few questions said I'd take achance and drive up have a look at it wasn't really as described few marks around the body rear wheel bearing growling but driving wise cantbefaulted real tight little car on the road plus had a cd player and a set of 14 inch alloys I did haggle on the price and got a few pound knocked off plans for it I don't know yet I'd like to get it tidied up as has been lying up a while and a good service didn't take many pictures as I had to get back and leave again will get more up as I tidy it the morning I got it home after a quick wash paint work is very bad lots of marks/scratches/dings/and dents but im hoping to get it all sorted once I get the nct [mot] and some tax on it Edited April 12, 2014 by JDMfreak Quote Link to post Share on other sites

JDMfreak Posted March 9, 2014 Author Share Posted March 9, 2014 Time for an update lots has happened still have lots to do i'll let the photo's do the talking picked up a gt kit bumpers/mouldings/boot lid am still waiting to collect bonnet and headlight but can get these at some stage paint was bit tired looking so I picked up a rattle can of 205 black and a can of laquer and started tidying bits of the kit up anyways a few pictures will keep ya's updated as I go not a bad reflection to say I painted it with a rattle can bottom panel not painted top factory painted and last but not least bootlid and bumper the rear bumper will need painting and bootlid has to small dents i'll do these at some stage gt drivers wing have to pick up a passenger one to get rid of the indicator and have the holes for the skirts to clip into painted the standard bumper while its still on for the meantime and repaired a dent it had on passenger side corner still looks bad but not half as bad as it was the pist of resitance one slighty shody gt bumper but with lots of tlc and the sander will be good once finished shame it was chopped for a front mount but nothing some black mesh cannot hide what I hope it to look like right another small update while the weather was nice today gave the bumper a good polish and started trying the panels I painted on the car few picture not great but need a few more bits and pieces to get the kit fully fitted painted bits still need wet sanding and polishing as you can see here the black paint is in an awful state I had a bit of black colour polish in the shed I did the rear quarter panel quickly to show how bad the paint is. Hopefully next year will get a full respray in 205 black when I saved enough Quote Link to post Share on other sites

JDMfreak Posted March 15, 2014 Author Share Posted March 15, 2014 another little update to ad to the thread picked up a set of doors yesterday haven't had a chance to fit them yet Also while on my travels manged to pick up a mk1 Gt headlight have sourced a pair so will keep this as a spare yes that is the door on my kitchen worktop seeing as today was a good sunny day got round to swapping doors was half expecting to have to pull of wings instead went and undone the doors from the other side of the hinge left the hinges on the car and refitted the doors along with all the windy windows and door cards have to say im delighted also have another treat in store should have it by Monday my lips are sealed till then anyways a few pictures of the new doors Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I picked up a set of very clean mk1 headlights and a cut gt grill and also car has got a new set of wheels and gave it a good was and polish the other day also got a TOM'S front bumper for it aswell needs some work and to be painted but should look well once its all done anyways few pictures of how the car looks still need to find a bonnet and a set of rear GT lights Quote Link to post Share on other sites
JDMfreak Posted April 12, 2014 Author Share Posted April 12, 2014 right not much of a photo update as I haven't a good camera at the minute got round to fitting the mk1 headlights and grill I don't like the grill to much so im taking it off and putting a normal uncut grill in to it .. the toms bumper has also been took off as I don't like that either without the proper skirts so basically will be a full standard looking mk1 gt rep once I can get my hands on a bonnet and mk1 grill and mk1 front bumper I still haven't received my Gt rear lights staring to drive me wrong as the gt boot is on and the standard lights are letting in water also stuck a set of 8000k hids in ten ties better and a new set of wheels well not brand new but better than what I had looks much better will grab a camera and take a few pics of how it looks tomorrow Quote Link to post Share on other sites

JDMfreak Posted April 14, 2014 Author Share Posted April 14, 2014 photo bomb got my gt rear lights this morning fitted them straight away car is in need of a desperate wash but paint isn't the greatest and the dirt hides the marks haha. All I need now is the bonnet standard grill and front passenger wing pic of the wheels will be getting repainted and the edges re-polished carbon sparco gear knob better than the standard thing it had gt grill cut out and meshed this will be taken off soon so if anyone wants to buy it shout now poor little rep looks fairly rough Quote Link to post Share on other sites

JDMfreak Posted April 14, 2014 Author Share Posted April 14, 2014 cheers I've been on done deal routing around but some of the prices are a bit mental I'm trying to build it on a very small budget so getting parts cheap is awkward I was onto browner about a bonnet he has one there and was meant to do a deal but haven't heard anything back yet my main aim is to get the parts cheap well not ridiculously cheap but handy enough and save for a full respray next year not working at the minute so gathering funds are the hard bit Quote Link to post Share on other sites
