rasslenny Posted February 28, 2014 Share Posted February 28, 2014 So im decided im going to move to individual coil packs as my ecu can run it just fine.... so all you soil pack guys let me know whats up so i Know i need to some how get a reading of the crank to get the coils firing and i know the 5e came with individual coils... so here is the question i know the 5e oil pump had a sensor on the crank gear can i use this existing set up how did you guys get a reading off the crank?? Turk Posted March 3, 2014 Share Posted March 3, 2014 The third gen 4efe also came with a DIS ignition system. I looked into it. I think it comes with a crank and cam sensor. You can use the cu from that to run it. But the timing would be too advanced on the standard ecu for turbo engines. And im not sure if you can get away with it using a piggyback because i thought of the same thing as you. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

turbo Grant Posted March 3, 2014 Share Posted March 3, 2014 If you want to do it real simply then just grind a tooth off the original 24t wheel and tell the ecu that it's running a 24-1 wheel at cam speed. Just need to work out the tooth too grind off so you can tell the ecu where the missing tooth is Quote Link to post Share on other sites
